Third Annual Cocktails for a Cause Event Hosted at Happy’s Pizza and Pub

August 7, 2013; WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI: On August 27, the Sherrie Handrinos Foundation and the Fit 4 Hoops Foundation will partner to host the third annual Cocktails for a Cause event from 6 pm – 9 pm at Happy’s Pizza and Pub (7170 Orchard Lake Rd, West Bloomfield). The event will feature complimentary appetizers, Hosted by FOX 2’s Jennifer Hammond along with celebrity servers Lomas Brown, Ryan Ermanni, Heather Zara and others. All of the proceeds will go directly towards the two foundations.

 

The Sherrie Handrinos Foundation was launched in 2012 with a main focus of offering business coaching to small business owners launching their companies along with assistance and guidance to create and launch other nonprofit foundations.

 

At the age of 19 and with only six months invested in Arbonne International, Sherrie Handrinos became the fastest and youngest person to become Executive Regional Vice President in the company’s 23-year history. Handrinos founded her marketing company, Boost 1 Marketing, in January 2009, where she works with professional athletes, franchise companies and other national brands, creating brand awareness, marketing campaigns and public relation services.

“It has always been a dream of mine to help other small business owners reach their fullest potential, and through this foundation we are able to do just that,” said Sherrie Handrinos, owner and founder of Boost 1 Marketing and of the Sherrie Handrinos Foundation. “We are very excited to partner with the Fit 4 Hoops Foundation to host this event and can’t wait to see everyone at Happy’s Pizza and Pub for a good cause.”

 

Physically Fit 4 Hoops Basketball Camps are designed to bring out the best in youth: increased respect for sportsmanship, enhanced fundamental athletic abilities and a deeper understanding of teamwork and responsibility.   The camp is committed to providing participants with exposure to important life skills and providing support to local youth in the areas of mental fitness, nutrition, academic enrichment and community involvement as they move from elementary, middle, high school and beyond.  When available, scholarships are awarded to eligible campers.

“We’re really excited to be partnering with Sherrie and Happy’s Pizza and Pub to host this event,” said Shawn Fair, founder of Physically Fit 4 Hoops. “Our foundation focuses on education both on and off the basketball court, providing training and discussion that goes beyond the game of basketball. Our goal is to continue that tradition and provide scholarship opportunities for our participants.”

Tickets for the Cocktails for a Cause event are $25 and are available at www.SherrieHandrinosFoundation.org and at the event. The event will feature celebrity servers, complimentary appetizers and a silent auction, and all proceeds will benefit the Sherrie Handrinos Foundation and the Fit 4 Hoops Foundation.

The training session will aim to help new small business owners take their businesses to the next level. Sherrie will train on how to start a new business, overcome obstacles, fears and concerns upon launching new businesses.

 

About Physically Fit 4 Hoops

Physically Fit 4 Hoops was formed in October, 2008 by Lutheran East High School graduate and Former Collegiate Basketball Player Shawn Fair.  Fit 4 Hoops instills life lessons such as self-confidence and the value of self-discipline as well as providing instruction in ball handling and basketball shooting techniques.  The camp’s mission is to teach children using the most effective methods to help them succeed both on and off the basketball court.

The core philosophy of Fit 4 Hoops is C.A.R.E.S. (Community, Citizenship, Accountability, Attitude, Responsibility, Respect, Excellence, Education, Scholarship and Skills).  Physically Fit 4 Hoops is constantly looking for teachable moments to inspire both campers and parents and make the most of every opportunity.  At the beginning of the camp, campers turn in their report cards and throughout the school year, the staff of Physically Fit 4 Hoops follows their progress.  Campers will be rewarded for their continued success in school with prize incentives.
